Salary Range (DOQ):
- Operator I: $28.51 to $36.48 hourly
- Operator II: $31.41 to $40.13 hourly
- Operator III: $35.51 to $45.33 hourly
Brief Description of Duties:
Under supervision (Waterworks Operator I) or general supervision (Waterworks Operator II), or direction (Waterworks Operator III), performs skilled and semi-skilled labor in the maintenance, operation, and repair of the City’s water distribution system; reads residential and commercial water meters and provides customer service; and maintains all vehicles and equipment used.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
- Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
Experience:
- Operator I – One year of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.
- Operator II – Two years of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.
- Operator III – Three years of increasingly responsible experience repairing and maintaining water distribution systems and equipment.
License or Certificate:
All Positions: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class A driver’s license within one year of employment.
- Operator I – Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as Water Distribution Operator Grade D1.
- Operator II – Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as Water Distribution Operator Grade D2.
- Operator III – Possession of, and ability to maintain, certification as Water Distribution Operator Grade D3.
