Summary Description:
Under administrative direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works Agency, the Director of Watershed Protection manages the budget and managerial, professional, operations and maintenance, technical and clerical staff in four divisions: Design and Construction, Operations and Maintenance, Planning and Permits, and Water Resources within the Public Works Agency. This position represents the Agency in matters relating to the Watershed Protection Department; and performs related work as required.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, results oriented leader with experience in complex long-range planning, program development, and capital projects development. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading large departments, multidisciplinary teams and will have political acumen to navigate a wide range of elected and appointed officials at all levels of government as well as the community at large. Experience in Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Process Improvement, or similar is highly desirable.
